Frequently Asked Questions

How do you handle separation anxiety?
We follow a gradual adjustment plan — sessions start short and extend naturally as your child builds confidence. We work closely with parents through regular WhatsApp updates and maintain open, transparent communication every step of the way. Children are never rushed into independence.
Is CCTV available for parent peace of mind?
Yes. Our premises are fully monitored with CCTV for the safety and security of every child in our care. This is one of several measures we take to ensure parents feel as comfortable as their children do.
Do you give heavy homework or worksheets?
No — never. We focus entirely on experiential, play-based learning. The Finnish model is clear on this: young children learn through doing, exploring, and playing. Homework and drilling are counterproductive at this stage and have no place at Coral.
Will my child adjust to play-based learning? Is it really effective?
Yes — and remarkably quickly. Play is not something children need to be taught; it is the natural language of childhood. Research from Harvard's Center on the Developing Child shows that child-directed play builds neural connections that are foundational for later learning. A landmark study in the journal Science found that children in play-based programs developed stronger self-regulation, creativity, and language skills than peers in traditional academic settings. The American Academy of Pediatrics (2018) formally recommends play as essential to healthy brain development. Most parents are surprised at how rapidly their child settles into the Coral environment — because we are simply working with their nature, not against it.
Will my child fall behind without formal teaching?
Research consistently shows the opposite. Children who experience quality play-based early education consistently outperform peers in long-term academic results. Play builds working memory, language, mathematical thinking, and emotional regulation far more effectively than worksheets ever could. Finland — which delays formal academics until age 7 — consistently ranks among the top performing education systems in the world.
Why are your fees higher than other preschools?
We provide something genuinely different: small class sizes, specifically trained facilitators, an HEI-designed Finnish curriculum, and personalised guidance for every child. Most parents find that the difference in their child's confidence, curiosity, and happiness makes it one of the best investments they've made.
What is the HEI Schools Finland partnership?
HEI Schools is the international education arm of the University of Helsinki — one of the world's top research universities. They partner with select schools globally to bring Finland's evidence-based early childhood curriculum to new communities. Coral is their partner in Pakistan, using a curriculum designed and quality-assured by Finnish education experts.
Can we visit before enrolling?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Seeing Coral in action is the best way to understand what we're building here. WhatsApp us or fill in the Pathfinder form above and we'll arrange a guided visit. Bring your child; let them explore and tell you what they think.
